The designer's primary goal is always to accurately assimilate the client's personal requirements for each new commission. Design concepts as varied as classic styles which present a timeless quality or futuristic styles which break new ground in the inherently conservative sailing world are studied using freehand sketches, colour visualisations and accurate computer models.

The new 'Thalassi' lying in Palma is the fourth commission Ron Holland has received from Guillermo Cryns. Working with this experienced client who has sailed the Amazon River, cruised the Alaskan archipelago and the Antarctic ice shelf resulted in an extremely detailed design brief.

The success of every project can be related to the designer's ability to give the client as many of his personal requirements as possible without compromising beauty, safety or performance.
